Hello. :) Actually, I posted a recipe awhile ago for small potatoes just for this very reason. You can find it under 'anytime' seasonal recipes.

I happened upon your site when I was searching for a little different way to do eggplant, with few ingredients. My eggplant was definitely past prime, and I thought there was NO way my kids were going to eat eggplant. So when I came across your sticks, I thought that would be the only way I might be able to trick their mind.

I didn't have any Parmesan cheese, and I thought they would hate them because of it, but it didn't taste bad at all without it. I also went to grab my crumbs and realized I didn't have any...I almost just threw my eggplant away, but then I thought I could break up some whole wheat Ritz crackers and get almost the same effect. I also didn't have any milk, so I just used a little bit of water (yes, my cupboards are empty right now...).

These were really good!! To be honest, with all my changes, I didn't expect them to be very good, but they were very really good! And to top it off, though somewhat reluctantly, my kids (2 and 4) ate them too!

I will definitely be trying this recipe again without all the changes. I never thought to cut the eggplant this way. They make a great, healthier appetizer or snack for my constantly hungry family of boys! Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us!

Nice blog.
Just a wee bit disappointed. I found this site by Googling "small potatoes" because I was looking for recipes using "small potatoes".
Unfortunately, none here.
My gardener just brought me a batch and I would like to serve them in the most appealing way.

Regards

Thanks for the comment. No, we didn't sample any beer, only the cider. They seemed to have many choices of both, though, so hopefully you will find something to like. It was definitely a comfortable and warm atmosphere. We've sent many people there and no one has been disappointed. Have a good time! :)

Thank you for the great descriptions of the food you ordered and the detail of localness you noticed. We were debating going to Spinnakers for a dinner and a taste of their brews. This blog post has convinced us it is a must try place. It sounds like the food is of very high quality and mostly sustainable too. Do you remember where your local cider was from? Did you try any of their beer or just stick to the cider? When we were deciding on a brew pub to visit a few weeks ago we went with Canoe, which is downtown on Swift Street. It seems there are many similarities between the two restaurants; but the atmosphere at Spinnakers sounds and looks to be a bit less downtown pub like and a bit more traditional dining. Thanks again for this information we will have to try some of those perfect French fries! Visit our blog for our brewpub experience in Victoria at: http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/four-steaks-and-a-carrot/
