Looking for some veggies for your Thanksgiving feast? BI’s winter market begins this Saturday from 10-3. For another opportunity, you might stop by Bainbridge Island Vineyards on Sunday, from 11-5. Global Source Education sent this out today:
Dear Local Colleagues, Friends and Neighbors:
This Sunday, November 21, from 11a-5p, Bainbridge Island Vineyards and Winery will be open for tasting and sales. Betsey Wittick will also be selling vegetables at Laughing Crow Farm and other farmers will also be selling seasonal locally grown turkeys and chickens. This is a great chance to bring home a special taste of Bainbridge to your Thanksgiving meal.
As you may know, Gerard and Jo Ann Bentryn of Bainbridge Island Vineyards and Winery have been struggling with major health issues. As a result, the winery has recently been closed for tastings. So, a few friends of Bainbridge Island Vineyards have gotten together to help open the winery for tastings and sales during a few Sundays over the holiday season. The first open house will be this coming Sunday. Announcements about later dates will follow.
BI Vineyards is a key partner of The EduCulture Project, so we are pitching in to support and help to staff this effort. Proceeds from wine sales during these upcoming Sunday open houses will benefit our edible education programs at the farm.
If you can, please stop by Day Road Suyematsu-Bentryn Farms this Sunday to pick up your holiday bird, vegetables and wine. Support local farmers! Support local food traditions! Support local farm-school programs!
